PredictionProbe Released UNIPASS™ 4.5

PredictionProbe has announced on 2/18/03 the release of UNIPASSTM version 4.5, the newest version of its renowned probabilistic assessment software. UNIPASS™ V4.5 is fully validated and tested software that can be operated by a non-statistician using a desktop computer.

Combining an advanced and powerful feature set with an easy-to-use Windows interface, UNIPASS™ is acclaimed for the precision and accuracy of its results. It provides the largest number of probabilistic computational methods of any product available, along with more analysis types and Most Probable Point (MPP) identification methods. It allows the selection of over 37 statistical distribution types for input random variables, and includes a library of over 61 functions, including user-defined. The new version offers an advanced simulation-based MPP search method, enhanced graphic functions and refinements to the interface with multi external solvers without any coding, in response to user requests.

Easy Ways to Interface with Multiple Software Systems Simultaneously

The UNIPASS™ interface modules allow simultaneous communication with multiple software systems. While enhancing the capabilities of these software systems, UNIPASS™ minimizes the number of deterministic software runs needed to perform Probabilistic Analysis.

What are new in Version 4.5 Compared to Version 4.4?

The new features provided by Version 4.5 compared with Version 4.4 are summarized below:

  •  Set up " Check Gradient Convergence Criteria" as default selection in MPP Search by using MPPL methods.

  •  Disable the selection of SORM-Curvature Fitting Method for the Nongradient Based MPPI method.

  •  Grayed out the selection of SORM in the main window for the inverse probability analysis when a existing PAS was open.

  •  Grayed out the selection of Inverse Probability Analysis, PDF/CDF analysis in the main window for the serial system problem when a existing PAS was open.

  •  Grayed out the selection of Inverse Probability Analysis, PDF/CDF analysis in the main window for the parallel system problem when a existing PAS was open.

  •  Grayed out the selection of Inverse Probability Analysis, PDF/CDF analysis in the main window for the general system problem when a existing PAS was open.

  •  Fixed the access violation problem in the Generic Interface for the case of unsuccessful run of external solver.

  •  Expanded the limitation of the maximum number of random function from 20 to 60 in the Function Definition Window.

  •  Prevented UNIPASS crash when the "Remove All" button is used in the Variable Definition Window.

  •  Prevented UNIPASS crash when the Data button is used in the Variable Definition window in a MS Window 2000 operation system.

  • Prevented window frozen when entered the user's name, company name, and the serial number in the installation of UNIPASS.

  •  Prevented UNIPASS crash when click the viewer window before loading the output file in the External Interface Window.

  •  Re-ordered the legend of sensitivity plots so that the default plot always exists.

  •  Fixed the problem for the sensitivity plot of m·β¤¶s for three bound solutions in a serial system problem.

  • Fixed the problem for the sensitivity plot of m·Pf¤¶s for three bound solutions in a serial system problem.

  •   Install Adobe Acrobat Reader V5.0 when Acrobat Reader was not installed in your PC.

  •  Corrected the header of normalized sensitivity in the sensitivity plots

  •  Give a warning for the case of no failure domain in the probability analysis.

  •  Give more explanations when the Response Surface Method was failure.

  •  Fixed the problem for the Response Surface Method when the inverse probability analysis was selected.

  •  Fixed the problem for the Mean Value Based  Method when the inverse probability analysis was selected.

  •  Give a warning to remind users to redefine the cut set when the limit-state function was deleted from the cut set.

  •  Removed a bug in the NASTRAN Interface.

  •  Added the capability of updating the security key in the field.

  •  Added a trouble shooting guide

  •  Added three tutorial user guides for component problem, system problem, and generic interface problem.
