1. What are Predictive Technologies and Probabilistic Methods?
Whatever your industry is, Predictive Technologies allow you to predict the future with greater accuracy, based on mathematical modeling. Probabilistic Methods take these Predictive Technologies one step further, permitting you not only to predict with accuracy, but to quantify the variability in that prediction. Combined, these tools allow for probabilistic design, sensitivity analysis, mathematical modeling of complex processes, uncertainty analysis, error bounding, competitive analysis, and process optimization.

2. Aren't Probabilistic Methods just another fad?
Absolutely not. In fact, their use has exploded over the past two years. Previously, only a few large companies benefited from using Probabilistic Methods. Today, numerous companies are using them to positively impact their bottom line. To see several case studies showing how real companies achieved real savings of millions of dollars, check out our Success Stories.

3. What benefits can Probabilistic Methods bring to my company?
Benefits range from cost reduction to reliability improvement to root cause identification to uncertainty prediction. In fact, the list of potential benefits goes on and on. Visit Success Stories to see the case studies of actual uses, and actual results.

4. Don't you have to be a mathematical genius to apply Probabilistic Methods to a problem?
If you'd asked this question ten years ago, the answer would've been yes. Today, however, Unipass software lets anyone who is familiar with the physical details of their problem easily conduct a probabilistic analysis using a user-friendly Graphical User Interface.

5. I've heard that Probabilistic Methods could add a lot of time to our processes. Is this true?
Years ago, back when computer runs were done "by hand," this was unfortunately true. We're happy to report that things have changed . Unipass now determines the required computer runs, then makes them automatically.

6. Don't you need large amounts of statistical data to conduct a Probabilistic Analysis?
This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions about Probabilistic Methods. The answer is no! Probabilistic Methods can be used effectively even with a small amount of data. Naturally, if the amount of data is small, then the uncertainty going into the probabilistic model will likely be large, resulting in a large amount of uncertainty. On the other hand, the results won't be greatly affected by a paucity of data if the result isn't sensitive to a highly uncertain input. In any case, Probabilistic Methods most accurately quantifies the uncertainty about a given process based on data, expert opinion, and underlying theory.

7. Isn't Probabilistic Technology still brand new? Wouldn't it be better to wait until the bugs get worked out?
You may find it surprising that the experts at PredictionProbe have been working in the field of Probabilistic Methods for nearly two decades. This has given them a great deal of time to "work the bugs out." PredictionProbe today delivers highly accurate, state-of-the-art software tools. The only outcome of waiting a little longer before "diving in" is to let your competition get a head start.

8. The benefits of Probabilistic Methods sound great, but my company uses proprietary codes to predict responses such as life and stress. As a result, it could be impossible to interface with them. Is there anything we do about that?
This is not a problem with Unipass. We have a Generic Interface (GI) which allows the user to interface with any code. The user simply tells Unipass what their proprietary code input file looks like, what their proprietary code output file looks like, and what commands are required to run their proprietary code. These input and output files can always look either the same (Fixed Format) or different (Variable Format). No specialty interface is required.
