MSC/NASTRAN Interface Overview

UNIPASS™ is distributed with an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) with the MSC/NASTRANTM finite element code. The integrated package can incorporate probabilistic mechanics into every structural analysis offered by MSC/NASTRANTM. To minimize user input, this GUI generates the batch command file NASTRAN.IN, which is used by the  UNIPASS™ solver for calling MSC/NASTRANTM. This enables the user to work directly with MSC/NASTRAN’s native input/output file format.

  • Require no programming work
  • Provide GUI window for users to input information
  • Use all MSC/NASTRAN response values for limit state function
  • Tracking capability for detecting the effect of random variables. The number of external software calls is minimized by a feedback control loop.

response type:

·         nodal displacement

·         element stress

·         element strain

·         element force

response location:

·         specific node or element number

·         maximum response value

·         minimum response value

·         maximum absolute response value

A GUI window for users to prepare NASTRAN.IN for the interface program is given below.
